The Building Inclusive Community Conference is an annual educational conference focused on the Lyons Township Community and organized by community members and leaders.

PURPOSE / MISSION: to encourage a welcoming and inclusive culture in our community by developing understanding and empathy through learning about issues in our community.

The planning committee, referenced below, has collaborated on identifying topics for workshop sessions that highlight issues being faced by communities with a focus on diverse voices and perspectives. Community members and organizations present the workshops on a broad spectrum of topics to support the goals noted above.

THE CONFERENCE CONTINUES TO GROW!

Last year, over 100 participants attended presentations, sharing stories, and engaging in meaningful discussions on a variety of topics.

Past topics include:

• Supporting Transgender Youth and Adults
• Unvarnished: Housing Discrimination in the Western Suburbs
• Understanding Judaism and Acts of Antisemitism
